We are thrilled that you are considering Walton Girls for your daughter’s secondary education. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary school. During the Summer Term, we make every effort to visit all prospective pupils at their primary schools, addressing any concerns they may have and gathering valuable insights from their primary teachers to tailor support to each student’s individual needs as early as possible.

All incoming students are invited to attend a Welcome Day on the first Tuesday in July. This day offers an excellent opportunity for students to meet their future classmates and familiarize themselves with the school and key staff members. It’s also an ideal time for parents to learn more about Walton and engage with our pastoral staff.

Performing Arts Auditions

As a Specialist Performing Arts School, Walton Girls’ High School reserves the right to select up to 10% of the Year 7 intake based on aptitude in Performing Arts (Music, Drama, and Dance). We take pride in welcoming a select group of students who demonstrate exceptional talent in these areas. How to Apply

Students in Year 6 who wish to join Walton in Year 7 will be guided through the application process by their primary school. All admissions are coordinated by the Lincolnshire School Admissions team, which can be contacted through their website: [Lincolnshire School Admissions](http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/parents/schools/school-admissions/).

Students from other counties should notify their County Admissions Team of their intention to apply to a Lincolnshire school and complete the appropriate forms, which should then be forwarded to the Lincolnshire team. We recommend keeping copies of all paperwork and contacting the Lincolnshire team to confirm your application has been received.

For girls currently in Year 5, we strongly encourage visiting us during the summer term to begin exploring secondary school options as early as possible.

Choosing the right secondary school is a crucial decision, and we encourage Year 5 and Year 6 students to visit as many schools as possible to make an informed choice. We invite you to visit Walton and experience firsthand what makes our school special. Many families choose to visit more than once.

During your visit, current students will guide you around the school and share their experiences. You’ll also have the chance to speak with a senior staff member.
